Poppies in October

1993

Collection of the Artist.

Making an artists book is like whispering; it is a process of adding more layers of meaning and introducing sequences of text and image while holding the attention. One of my best experiences about communication came from small children in Greece where I went each summer while living in London. The children were teaching me to count and gradually got quieter until they were whispering. My attention was honed as they whispered and secured the required sounds.
The book is embossed with Sylvia Plath's poem, 'Poppies in October'
