STEP LIGHTLY
2010
Brick Bay Sculpture Trail, Matakana.
Three filigreed plant-form arches step lightly across the lake.
Each arch reflected creates a circular work, half real, half illusion. Positioned with equidistant spaces, the arches imply a continuous undulating sinuous form above and below the surface of the water. Historically, the arch was used in the creation of aqueducts, bridges and viaducts. In the Minoan era, a series of arcs carved in stone, surrounded by water represented regenerating life.
An edition of two.
